Plaque description

Sidmouth's first purpose - built hotel opened 1810. In 0ct 1819 the Duke of Kent first visited Sidmouth. A copy of the famous Long Print of Sidmouth was presented to him at the Hotel by John Wallis, The Prince of Wales, later Edward VII, stayed here with his tutor on 30th Sept. 1856. whilst on a private educational tour of South Wes.

Where is this plaque located?

From the Lifeboat plaque head back onto the esplanade or use the pavenment in front of the buildings running along the seafont. Walk along the esplanade until you reach the the rock groin opposite the roundabout or if you are on the pavement, until you reach the roundabout. The Royal York and Faulkner Hotel is next to you on the corner and the Plaque is located on the front of the building.
